CLASSES

Our 2024-2025 classes start Thursday, September 5th!

  • Our Studio Choir is open to children ages 1st through 3rd grade. With a degree in church music, and over 25 years experience, director Cheryl Ferguson fosters the joy of singing with children as well as teaches music reading utilizing Lifeway music curriculum which has been lauded by both church and secular music educators for decades.

Mrs. Ferguson leads a team of volunteers each week to work with children, providing a safe and happy atmosphere conducive to good music learning.

  • Our guitar classes are taught by David Hinners. Mr. Hinners has a Masters in Applied Guitar. He teaches beginning guitar, and is branching off into intermediate class this year as well. This class is for 4th through 8th grade.

While we encourage students to bring their own guitar, a limited amount of guitars are provided for use.

  • Our 4th through 8th grade Tone Chime Choir is another unique course at Parkway Studio. Mrs. Sandy Rogers and Mr. Lucas San direct this group as these students learn about ensemble playing and sharpen their music reading skills.

    All instruments are provided.

  • Dr. Sunghee Hinners and Miss Diana Duncan (Parkway Baptist's pianist and organist, respectively) lead a piano class at Parkway Studio for 4th through 8th graders. The class teaches basic piano and music theory.

Having a home keyboard or piano is recommended for any participating student.

  • Dr. John Francis (Minister of Worship, Parkway Baptist Church), assisted by Steve Price, direct 7th and 8th graders in the use of video and audio production. This class is higher-level, emphsizing individual instruction and work. Output of this class will be the creation of videos, looping, web design and more.
